Members of Chew Stoke Methodist Church are proud of the fact they have three organists, who between them have notched up 155 years of service and wondered if this was a record. The church and its congregation of around 28, has three organists who have been providing music at the church for 40,50 and 65 years respectively. Together they have dedicated 155 years to the life of the church The Church’s main organist is Pat Gallop, who has played here and previously at Chew Magna Chapel for a total of 65 years. Elaine Symes who previously played at Harptree and Blagdon for a total of 40 years. Third organist is Angela Hurford who plays for All Age Worship and at the Parish Church for a total of 40 years. The three were presented with certificates for their long service during their Harvest Service by the Rev Michelle Ireland.
